Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. The directory operator does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If you write through a contact channel, the message and the details you choose to include are used to respond.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. Those ordinary logs help with security, uptime, and aggregate readership counts. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when the service configuration calls for them.
How the Information Is Used
Information is used to operate and protect the site, diagnose faults, understand broad traffic patterns, and improve the reference pages. Visitor lists are not sold by the operator, and individual user profiles are not built from the directory’s own records.
External Portals and Links
Oceanside Residents Directory links to county and state portals, the Oceanside library, archives, courts, and sponsored search providers. The outside service’s privacy terms govern information submitted there. A government custodian’s handling of a public-record request is governed by that office’s rules, not by this policy.
Who Processes Technical Data
Hosting and site-support providers may process server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it, or when needed to protect the service and its users.
Security and Retention
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes that require them. There are no directory accounts or passwords here, so the operator does not hold a user profile of that kind.
Children
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information through a contact route, a parent or guardian may use the Contact page to request review and deletion.
California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code §1798.100 and following provisions, provide rights such as access, correction, deletion subject to exceptions, and limits or choices concerning sensitive personal information, sale, and sharing. Because this directory keeps little information, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and applicable technical logs. Public records held by Oceanside, San Diego County, or another California custodian are outside the operator’s control; send a correction or removal question to the original office. Use the Contact page for a request about information held here.
Changes to This Policy
