Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Oceanside Residents Directory. Use of the reference means you accept the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the pages or the linked search tools.

1. Nature of the Reference

Oceanside Residents Directory is a private reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Oceanside, San Diego County, and California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with an office, court, library, archive, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages and any linked result only for a lawful purpose. You may not use them to:

  • stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person;
  • locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order;
  • commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or account intrusion;
  • make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions;
  • scrape or republish the content at scale; or
  • interfere with the site’s operation or security.

3. No Consumer Reports

This is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search provider, is a consumer report. It may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Outside Links

County portals, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and sponsored search services maintain their own terms, fees, availability, and privacy practices. Oceanside Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content or conduct.

5. No Warranties

The reference is provided “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that a statement, link, record description, fee, coverage date, or outside portal is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from the pages, a linked resource, or a decision based on a record found through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless the operators from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original wording, design, logo, and layout belong to the site operators and are protected by copyright. Brief attributed quotations and ordinary links are welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted.

9. Revisions

These terms may be changed by posting a revised version on this page. Continuing to use the reference after a revision is posted means you accept the new version.

10. Access Restrictions

The operators may block or restrict access for a user who violates these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its security. That action may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. California’s public-records framework is the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000. The CPRA creates access rules for identifiable existing records, subject to exemptions; it does not make Oceanside Residents Directory a custodian or require an agency to create a new list.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions
